Everybody loves a beautiful smile, right? When somebody walks into a room and smiles, the right smile can light up the whole place. As human beings, we are attracted to these non-verbal cues as a smile can signal friendship and a willingness to be open and caring towards others.
If you have chipped, stained or gapped teeth, however, you may feel self-conscious about smiling. At DRMR, we can use veneers London to address issues with your smile to enable you to achieve a natural-looking one. Our practice is proud to have Dr Manrina Rhode, a leading cosmetic specialist in the field. Recognised worldwide, Dr Rhode trains many dentists from across the globe in her techniques using porcelain veneers, and she lectures on this subject as well. Having used over 10,000 veneers on her patients and working with her master ceramist for 17 years, Dr Rhode could give you a dream smile that really reflects who you are.
Veneers
You may be aware that there are different types of veneers: porcelain veneers and composite veneers. Composite veneers are not as durable as porcelain ones, and Dr Rhode specialises in porcelain veneers. Veneers London are used when teeth have become discoloured due to smoking, drinking caffeine or red wine or eating certain foods, for example. Sometimes, teeth whitening treatments are ineffective and can’t tackle discolouration.
As such, veneers London are then a great alternative, particularly porcelain veneers. Composite veneers are typically used for minor discolouration or chips and cracks, but if you require a smile makeover, for example, it may be recommended that you have porcelain veneers.
Why would I need porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers involve creating a complete cover for your teeth, and this can be as thin as 0.3 mm. Like a false nail sitting over a natural nail, porcelain veneers are placed over the front of your natural teeth. The surface of your natural teeth is prepared, and then the veneers are placed onto them using adhesive glue.
If you take care of your porcelain veneers by brushing and flossing twice a day and visiting your dentist regularly for checkups and cleanings, then your veneers could last around 15 years! The result of having your teeth covered with veneers is that cracks will be repaired, which will enable you to ensure that they don’t break or get more bacteria in them. Furthermore, aesthetically, your teeth may also look improved both in shade and shape.
How long does it take to get veneers?
If you are having a smile makeover, you will need to see us for 5 appointments over 5 weeks. Before you embark upon treatment, however, we recommend that you book an initial consultation to allow our dentist to examine your mouth thoroughly and recommend the appropriate treatment options for you. If veneers are deemed to be the right way forward, you could have your smile’s mojo back in just 5 weeks – that’s something to smile about! At DRMR, we want you to feel fabulous and look even better.
